ProFinish has played a major role in planning and delivering a complete fire protection solution for 180 Bank Street in South Melbourne

Originally constructed in 1934 as the Melbourne Butter Factory, the iconic brick building is a South Melbourne landmark. One of the main challenges in bringing historically significant buildings up to code is upgrading outdated and ineffective passive fire protection systems. To ensure 180 Bank Street achieved complete code compliance, we applied and installed:

• Vermiculite to structural column and beams throughout the building
• Onsite intumescent paint to exposed structural steel

Our background expertise in surface preparation and industrial coatings has allowed us to include the following services in this package:

• Onsite sandblasting to restore brickwork to original appearance
• External building chemical peel paint removal

Our package is due to be completed in May 2021, transforming this old factory into fully renovated premium office spaces.
