ProFinish Coatings was chosen to Fire Rate the Geelong Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) stage 2 for KANE Constructions.
The $38.5 million project saw the expansion and improvement of the existing building structure.
- Included a striking new and accessible Ryrie street entrance to the arts centre;
- Improved accessibility within the centre with universal access to the Playhouse Theatre and studios.
- Improved the visitor experience, including two new foyers and a bar area;
- Provided four new studios/rehearsal spaces
- Incorporation of dedicated spaces for a broader range of creative and education activities, creative entrepreneurs, children and youth, creative and production development.
ProFinish Coatings fire rated all the structural steel in the building using Promat Australia’s product Cafco300. Along with fire spray, ProFinish was also enlisted to complete fire rated penetrations at the GPAC build. A few examples of methods used include the use of fire collars, wraps, Promatect L500 Board and pillows. This was an exciting job for ProFinish as it was close to home and a very unique and diverse build for the community.
